Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the nordpool.lv website and the Nord Pool price Android app. The service provides electricity-price information without requiring an account and does not sell personal data.

Who controls the data

The data controller is the operator of nordpool.lv. Privacy questions and data requests can be submitted through the contact form.

Android app

The app stores the selected price area, VAT and delivery-fee choices, language, theme, notification preference, and downloaded price cache on the device.
When notifications are enabled, the app periodically checks the nordpool.lv API and creates a local notification only when new next-day prices become available. The preference and notification history remain on the device.
API requests are anonymous, although the server technically receives the IP address, request time, device/network client information, and requested price area.
The app does not request an account, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising ID, or payment information.

Depending on device settings, Android or Google backup may transfer local app settings to the user's Google account or a new device. The user controls this through Android backup settings.

Website

A session cookie and server-side session store language, price areas, timezone, and display choices. The session may include the IP address.
Server and security logs may contain the IP address, request time, browser information, requested URL, and error details. These are used to operate and secure the service and enforce API rate limits.
If web notifications are voluntarily enabled, the browser push endpoint, encryption keys, language, and subscription time are stored. The subscription can be disabled on the website or in the browser.
Name, email address, subject, and message submitted through the contact form are used only to respond to the request.

External services

The website may use Google Analytics for visit statistics, Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse, jsDelivr to deliver static files, and an error-monitoring service to diagnose technical problems. These services may receive IP address, browser or device information, and cookies or similar identifiers under their own privacy policies. Directly identifying user data is not sent to error monitoring by default.

Legal basis and retention

Technical and security data are processed to provide the service and protect it from abuse. Optional notifications and analytics are used based on your choice or consent. Contact data are processed to answer your request. Data are kept only as long as needed for these purposes, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Session data are removed when the browser session or its configured lifetime ends; a push subscription is kept until it is revoked or becomes invalid.

Your choices and rights

Delete app data through Android settings or by uninstalling the app.
Delete website session data by clearing nordpool.lv cookies and site data.
Disable notifications in the app, website, browser, or Android settings.
You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of personal data and to complain to your local data-protection authority.

To exercise these rights, use the contact form. Where data are not linked to an account or other identifier, we may be unable to determine which anonymous technical records relate specifically to you.

Security and changes

HTTPS encryption, access controls, and other reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect data. External providers may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards applicable to their services.

Children and policy changes

The service is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly collect children's personal data. This policy may be updated when the service or legal requirements change; the revised version will be published here with a new date.
